Note for testers: if you want to test updating virtualbox, it would be best to first test virtualbox 4.3.16 (from Core Updates) with kernel 3.14.18 (from Core Updates) and to create/run a VM.

Then install kernel 3.14.22 and virtualbox 4.3.18 to test your VM with the new virtualbox (you can do this in two steps, the kernel first, then reboot and test the kernel, and then virtualbox).

Tested virtualbox 4.3.18-1.mga4 on Mageia 4 x86_64. I could run existing VMs without any noticeable issue, though these VMs are those I run typically from Cauldron, so I haven't really tested whether the update candidate introduces regressions for VMs created with the version in Core Updates.

VirtualBox error log for Debian 7 VM

With Mageia 3, at work I had tested importing an OVF of a Debian 7 VM exported from VMWare, and it worked fine.  I have just tested the same thing and now when you get through GRUB and the kernel starts loading, the VM crashes.

Mageia 4 i586 host and guest both work fine.

Mageia 3 i586 guest works fine.

Since the Mageia 3 i586 host test failed, I need to investigate that more.  I'll look at it again at work next week.

I just needed to click Enable PAE/NX in the system settings for the VM (also needed in 4.3.16 to make this VM work).  Sorry about that.  This update is perfectly fine.  This could be validated.

Ideally this should be tested on Mageia 3 x86_64 as well (so anyone should feel free to do so), but it's not absolutely necessary for validation.

I'm not sure if it'll be pushed as is, or if Thomas will rebuild the kernels again (due to an issue with too long kmod provides causing issues with the synthesis metadata IIRC), so I'll refrain from adding the validated keyword for now and let Thomas decide when to push this.
