Description Reinout van Schouwen 2014-10-12 13:15:24 CEST
Description of problem:
After a recent Cauldron update, gnome-shell failed to start.
(I got an immediate error screen with Log Out button)

Inspecting the log pointed towards a missing Gcr typelib file.
I found that after installing lib64gcr-gir1 and lib64gcr-ui-gir1, gnome-shell was running again.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3.14.0-5.mga5

Things like that should automatically be determined. I don't have those installed and gnome-shell starts up fine. I'm confused on the cause.
Comment 2 Reinout van Schouwen 2015-01-04 21:57:46 CET
Could be related to gnome shell extensions maybe? I use Locations, Recent files and System Monitor.

Putting this on the release blocker stuff.

Priority: Normal => release_blocker
Status: NEW => ASSIGNED

Comment 4 Olav Vitters 2015-02-06 10:57:20 CET
Latest gnome-shell does automatically require typelib(Gcr) as well as manually. Still need to check for typelib(GcrUi) with extensions. I don't have it.

Status: ASSIGNED => RESOLVED

Comment 6 Olav Vitters 2015-02-09 11:26:14 CET
Cannot reproduce. Adding requires is harmless anyway, so released gnome-shell-3.14.3-2.mga5

Status: REOPENED => RESOLVED
Resolution: (none) => FIXED
