Having a modem cable connection with 10Mbits, connect one computer directly to the modem cable, then connect this computer to another using a crossover cable (connecting in Ethernet ports). I run windows SO in the computer that its directly connected to the modem cable, and i share internet to the 2º computer running any SO and the internet speed detected is about 50% of the default internet speed provived by the internet provider (10 Mbits). So if the real speed i get in 1º computer (windows SO) is about 9Mbits, in the 2º computer (any SO) its detected about 4Mbits, so all seams to run OK. Now in the 1º computer i run Mandriva 2010.2 and use drakgw to share internet, in the 2º computer i for example Windows SO, now the internet speed detected in the 2º computer its VERY LOW, it DOES NOT reach 1Mbits! After running a speedmeter test it shows that the download speed was around 8.11 Kbits, the upload speed was BIGGER 478.57Kbits. So the download speed in the 2º machine WAS NOT EVEN 5% of the default internet speed. This was hard to believe so i did several tests, in several machines, and it always showed that when i running Mandriva in 1º computer and share internet, the download speed in the 2º computer was always too slow, about the same value as the first result. If running Windows OS in 1º computer and share internet, the 2º computer always get download values around 50% of the default internet speed.
I would ask that this bug could have attention since Mageia/Mandriva boxes reduce dramatically the internet speed instead just share it normally. The speed in the 2º box is very reduced, after testing this severall times it never passes about 5% of the default speed, and this is almost like not having nothing shared. In Windows the internet is correctly shared.
Summary: Internet shared with drakgw is very LOW (less than 10%) => Internet shared with drakgw is very LOW (less than 5%)
@ José Sorry for responding so late! Is this still a problem in current cauldron or in Mageia 1?

Reporter, could you please reply to the previous question? I know we were very late to respond to your report. That wasn't because we don't care about your report, but because we were and are very short on triagers. If you don't reply, after two weeks from now someone will close this bug as OLD. Thank you.
