Description of problem:

rpmdrake does not provide message as to why rpm can not be selected.
Tried to install mplayer tainted x86_64 and get

Sorry, the following package cannot be selected:
- mplayer-1.1.1-10.r37263.1.mga5.tainted.x86_64

No reason provided. But urpmi gives a reason, although pretty vague, it is a hint to the problem.

# urpmi mplayer
The following package cannot be installed because it depends on packages
that are older than the installed ones:
mplayer-1.1.1-10.r37263.1.mga5.tainted
Continue installation anyway? (Y/n) n

How reproducible: Always


Steps to Reproduce:
1. Tried to install mplayer with rpmdrake
2. Shows additional packages required, clicked OK
3. Answered Yes to install and get

You need to manually downgrade libdvdnav4 to the version now in Cauldron to fix this, but yes you'd think you'd get a more detailed error message about that.

Problem has been fixed on mga6.

You mean the problem with mplayer's installation, or with urpmi not being explicit about why it can't install the package?

Yes.  :)

Bug was written against rpmdrake which is now providing reason(s) why a package fails to install.

mplayer was the package which failed at the time of bug creation.
mplayer updates in mga5 and is no longer failing.
