Description of problem: Please, add Icewm in ALL the installation media. Because, as I had said, back in Mandriva, "when everything else fails, IceWM works!" For example, in Mageia 5, Alpha 2, KDE, 32bit, Live DVD, there is a major graphic problem, in my system. Is it because of KDE? A lack of RAM or graphic card memory? Or a graphic driver problem? You could easily narrow it down, if there was IceWM available in the Live media. You would simple log out, and then log in with IceWM. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
It is intended to be on there. CC'ing the ISO creators.

IIRC there were some unresolved issues with it, wich is why it's not on the isos... Will try to add again on mga5 beta
(In reply to Thomas Backlund from comment #2) > IIRC there were some unresolved issues with it, wich is why it's not on the > isos... > > Will try to add again on mga5 beta yep and not so user friendly ("why is this here ? I don't need it") furthermore, released iso should works
What issues? And IceWM is plenty user-friendly :P
(In reply to Manuel Hiebel from comment #3) > I don't need it") There's a ton of software that I might think that I don't need them. > furthermore, released iso should works So far, for my main computer, neither Kde or Gnome Live iso's are working. Should we ditch them both? And for my second computer none of the latest 5-6 kernels is working. Should I quit Mageia, or even linux altogether?
I would like to clarify that IceWM-light occupies little disk space and that he is INDISPENSABLE for a minimal installation

I don't see icewm here ftp://mageia.webconquest.com/iso/cauldron/Mageia-6-sta1-LiveDVD-PLASMA5-i586-DVD/Mageia-6-sta1-LiveDVD-PLASMA5-i586-DVD.lst So it looks like this bug is still valid for the Live isos.

IceWM is not being included on the Live DVDs because it depends on mate-polkit, which is in the list of excluded packages. The comment about mate-polkit just says "not wanted", so it may not be a problem to include it. I've tried building a GNOME Live DVD with it, and there were no immediately obvious issues. So we can give this a try unless Thomas remembers another reason for excluding mate-polkit.

IceWM is on all the 6-sta2 ISOs, so I think we can close this now. Note that the version included on the ISOs does not include support for the IceWM panel, but that has been rectified in cauldron.
