Description of problem:

Typing something while Kickoff is open and then clearing the entered text makes Plasma 5 crash (panel disappears, then reappears as it reloads).


Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

plasma-desktop-5.0.1-2, plasma-framework-5.1.0-1

How reproducible:

Anytime I use the Kickoff type to search function.


Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the Kickoff menu
2. Type something (even just 1 character)
3. Press Backspace until all text is cleared
4. Plasma crashes

While making the backtrace, I've found that I can't reproduce the crash every time now (I don't think anything in KF5/Plasma5 has changed though); it doesn't depend on what text I type to search, but other than that, I can't really say

I've recently cleared my KDE4 settings by removing the .kde4 folder and I've found that I could no longer reproduce the crash the way I did before, no matter how many times I tried. I still get some Plasma crashes and odd Kickoff menu behaviour, but I can't reproduce those
