qarte process uses 100% cpu even after the search is done It is fixed with a new version according to upstream : https://bugs.launchpad.net/qarte/+bug/1307998
I have uploaded a updated package for Mageia 4. You can test this by searching a video name, then watching the CPU usage. AFAIK, this tool only works with french, belgian or german IP@. Suggested advisory: ======================== Updated qarte package fix cpu usage on searches. I'm not seeing any CPU processing problems here from 1.9 -> 2.0. Maybe I'm using to fast a computer? Anyway qarte is a good way to brush up on my French and I'm not seeing any problems. Should I be testing it differently?

It works on Cauldron with KDE4, I'll try another DE on Mageia 4.

The browsing utility works fine on KDE4 and Cinnamon, and after logging in and out of Xfce4, it works too, so this was a temporary issue. Otherwise I could reproduce the issue from comment 0 and the update candidate fixes. Let's proceed with this update, it looks good enough. @Arnaud: Maybe you should report the issue that you described on the Qarte bug tracker[1] ? [1] https://bugs.launchpad.net/qarte

Anyway qarte is a good way > to brush up on my French and I'm not seeing any problems. > Should I be testing it differently? Did you use the search feature, i.e. the search box at the bottom of the GUI? Here it takes a whole CPU core after it's been used. It's no big deal if you can't reproduce, we were already two to reproduce it and see that the update fixes it.
Validating update, advisory uploaded. Please push qarte to Mageia 4 core/updates.
