Description Béat E 2014-08-09 09:55:23 CEST
Description of problem:
I want to install the newest version (4.3.) of Skype. When I try to install the package get-skype it says that get-skype-4.3.0.37-2.mga4.nonfree.noarch can't be chosen due to a dependency with libQtGui.so.4 or other packages.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
get-skype version 4.3.0.37

How reproducible:
Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Search for "skype" in the software manager on mageia 4 64 bit.
2. Choose "get-skype" version 4.3 (older versions aren't supported anymore).
3. I get an error message saying that the package can't be chosen due to dependencies.

You must have Core 32 bit Release and Core 32 bit Updates medias enabled.
This is the default for 64 bit Mageia systems - maybe you changed it?

I activated the mentioned 32 bis medias. Afterwards I could install "get-skype" (together with needed 88 packages that were needed) without problem. Now Skype works fine. :) I close this ticket now. Thanks a lot for your support!

By the way I deactivated the 32 bit medias myself because it was too confusing to have 32 bit and 64 bit packages shown when I was looking for new packages. But from now on I leave the 32 bit medias activated.
