Description of problem: I'm really struggling with this one, and I'm not certain where the problem is. There seems to be a constant background signal in any active window which selects the first menu item without a shortcut key. This is always in the active window and seems to be at a variable rate, but results in several signals per minute. It can make some programs unusable (ie Cinelerra - it automatically pops up the Save as window, in the Launcher Menu, it selects the first program in the list without an underlined letter). Using a keypress detector doesn't seem to pick it up, and it doesn't affect text boxes. It occurs whether or not the keyboard, mouse or other peripherals are attached. My guess that it has something to do with the null funtion is based on Konsole. When a program is running through Konsole, and the Konsole window is the active window. ^@ shows up constantly which through my limited understanding seems to be related to NULL. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): I'm not sure which component is involved here. or how to go about further exploring this. How reproducible: Seems to be constant, running in the background. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to Launcher menu, highlight Sound and Video, KsCD (the first listed program without an underlined letter) pops up and the menu closes. or 2. Go to Cinelerra, main program window. In a couple of seconds, the Save As dialog pops up. or 3. Run any program through Konsole and a series of ^@ shows up within the text or trailing at the end. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
