I notice that the above .iso reference is *incorrect*. It should be: Mageia-5-alpha1-x86_64-DVD - as originally noted in The Pad. Can this be corrected, or does this Bug need to be canceleld and replaced? I do apologise for belatedy discovering this error...
I tested install from this .iso and opted for grub2 without problems - see pad. In Summary->Bootloader the menu suffers from the gtk issue causing the pulldown menu (with the alternative bootloader options) to not display a down-arrow as mentioned in the pad. You need to click on the current one to get the menu to expand and display the other options.

> You need to click on the current one to get the menu to expand and display the > other options. "The current one"? The situation arose having clicked on one of the boot menu lines and selected 'Edit'. Why would something else then need to be clicked to see the Up/Down arrows?
Since you said that there was no mention of grub2, I thought you were referring to the bootloader selection options. There is thankfully no option to edit the grub2 boot menu items in Mageia. The option should be removed from drakboot. see https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9627
> I tested install from this .iso and opted for grub2 without problems Wel, I saw no mention anywhere about GRUB2 anywhere during the install, which is what I reported. (Not that I *wanted* to use GRUB2. :-)
(In reply to Maurice Batey from comment #5) > > I tested install from this .iso and opted for grub2 without problems > > Wel, I saw no mention anywhere about GRUB2 anywhere during the install, > which is what I reported. > (Not that I *wanted* to use GRUB2. :-) Ah OK, well this is normal since mdv days. You didn't see LILO either did you? To use an alternative bootloader you need to select the bootloader section in the summary and use the pull down menu to change it. At one time maybe mdv2010 or 2009 I forget which there was a separate bootloader selection screen before the summary which was removed. As I said in comment #2 this menu is currently missing it's 'expand' arrow, so it's not obvious that there is a menu available, although it still works if you click in the right place on the currently displayed item (grub with graphical menu).
nothing buggy here (or duplicate)

I don't understand "nothing buggy here"! Item (1) in the problem description has been generally accepted (noted variously in The Pad) as a genuine error, i.e. the Up/Down buttons are missing the appropriate text. I'm happy that Item (2) w.r.t. GRUB2 is not an 'error' as such.
there is no text cf: http://doc.mageia.org/installer/4/en/content/setupBootloaderAddEntry.html so only arrow are missing which is a duplicate as said to: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14355
Ah, yes - I see now, Manuel! Will update my records to show 13698 (Item 1) --> 14355
