Description Mark Kay 2014-07-06 01:46:46 CEST
Description of problem:

When inserting USB drive with the same label as another partition (ex: HD sda3 is labeled "recovery", and USB sdc1 is also labeled "recovery"), Mageia does not automatically detect it: No notification on the toolbar is shown and it does not appear in dolphin.

It only can be mounted manually.

How reproducible:

Reproduced on 2 seperate USB drives with same label as HD partition. Used "recovery" for label.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Insert USB drive with same label as a partition on the HD
2. No notification is shown in the toolbar and the USB drive is not shown in Dolphin.

Reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:

What desktop are you using?
it could be either low level stuff (udev) or some higher level stuff in the desktop.

Was using KDE4 from the Mageia 5a Live DVD installed to my HD.

Could you try in latest cauldron or Mageia 5 RC, in both KDE and another desktop environment, such as GNOME?

Hi Mark,

We're all volunteers with too little spare time that we can use for Mageia.

Could you please try in Mageia 5 whether the problem exists in KDE and also test whether it exists in another DE, like Samuel asked?

Thanks :-)

Since we have not received feedback to the information we have requested above, we will assume the problem was not reproducible, or has been fixed in one of the updates we have released for the reporter's distribution.

Users who have experienced this problem are encouraged to upgrade to the latest update of their distribution, and if this issue turns out to still be reproducible in the latest update, please reopen this bug with additional information.

Closing as OLD.
