Just filing a bug for this since it isn't forgotten. As best I can tell, printer-filters and cups-filters are completely different things, so the obsoleting was incorrect. There was a corresponding change in task-printing-scanning which would also need to be reverted. @ Olav I heard this can be the reason my HP deskjet 5652 no longer works. Would be nice if it'd work again, even if I only use it when printing in color. On one cauldron, I got 100% cpu for cupsd, on the other it was less, but printing still didn't work.
