Description of problem: None module and firmwares are available on Mageia for wireless USB or PCI card embedding ACX100, ACX111 or TNETW1450 chipsets from Texas Instrument. So, it is possible to have wi-fi operational with a minimum knowledge to download pilote and firmware, then build and install like I described on this Mageia forum http://www.mageialinux-online.org/forum/topic-18541+wifi-impossible-de-trouver-l-interface-ndiswrapper.php#m178345 Describing is about wireless PCI card Netgear WG311v2 (ACX111) beginning because Ndiswrapper can't use a 32bit XP driver with a 64bit kernel... ending with another wireless PCI card D-Link DWL520+ (ACX100) dkms and wpa_supplicant existing in Mageia, pilote and firmwares seeming coming from sourceforge, I am thinking it is possible to enhance the distribution with a new rigth acx_mac80211 module! Reading from: http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/acx1xx <quote> There is legal controversy surrounding the development of this driver, see the wireless mailing list for more information. Until that is cleared, we suggest to not use or download this driver. </quote> So for now its a no-go for inclusion

Hello Thomas, are you sure controversy is also about the git http://sourceforge.net/p/acx100/acx-mac80211/ci/master/tree/ and not only about the original? http://sourceforge.net/projects/acx100/#Kernel_inclusion

The original code with the controversy was around 2004-2006, Last comment I have found regarding new code is from October 2012: http://sourceforge.net/p/acx100/mailman/message/29984558/ wich states: <quote> The clarification of the legal question is currently still an ongoing project and within this context also contacts to TI have been established. Until now however there no consolidated status yet, but it will be followed up. </quote> So unless someone can point me to some more recent info about this, it's still a no-go, sorry about that :/
