Eric Python IDE is supported on Mageia4 as version Eric4 for Python 2.*, but not version Eric5 for Python 3.* and it is very difficult installing the dependencies (especially QScintilla). I was not successfull doing it and have given up. Eric Python IDE is getting more and more the standard Python IDE and is mandatory for Python developers paticularly for migrating from Python 2.* to Python 3.*. So Mageia is one of the rarely Linux distributions which does not fully support Python3, which will replace Python2 in future. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
I'll have a look at importing Eric5 for Mageia 5.

Unassigning myself as I'm not working on this currently. I'm still interested but don't have much time for it right now, so I let the bug free if someone else wants to step up.

Created attachment 5755 [details] WIP spec file for eric5 Here's a WIP spec file for eric5, based off OpenSUSE's spec file. We lack a couple of python3 modules before eric5 can be properly packaged (Qscintilla, python3-xml whatever that is).
Quoting upstream: "Please note that eric5 is no longer maintained. Please get a copy of eric6 6.0 or newer."
