gzip now supports the "--rsyncable" option. This works on Mageia, and is documented correctly in "info gzip" and "gzip -h". However, the man page is missing this information. In comparison, the man page on Debian/Ubuntu has it correct, including the text: --rsyncable While compressing, synchronize the output occasionally based on the input. This increases size by less than 1 percent most cases, but means that the rsync(1) program can take advantage of similarities in the uncompressed input when syncronizing two files compressed with this flag. gunzip cannot tell the difference between a compressed file created with this option, and one created without it.
Our rsyncable patch misses the chunk which adds info about --rsyncable switch to gzip.1. I'll sync our patch with debian to add it.

Testing MGA4 64-bit real hardware. Confirmed that Release gzip manpage had *no* references to rsync[able]. Updated from Core Updates Testing to gzip-1.6-3.1.mga4. Confirmed that the --rsyncable option is now present both in manpage SYNOPSIS and OPTIONS. OK'd.
