Description of problem: It looks like the Mageia 4 packaged version of Avidemux is lacking a pile of features previously to be found in the Mageia 3 packaged version. The first one I noticed was the x264 codec as I am using it for a disc-full of mpeg2 stuff which I am archiving as .mp4 A very large number of video filters is also missing - mostly the ones from mplayer, but possibly others which I haven't noticed yet. I have read and re-read the MGA4 release notes and errata but can find no mention of a feature-restricted version of Avidemux being shipped. Oh, and the GTK version of the gui is missing too. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load an mpeg2 video 2. Select MPEG-4 AVC for encoding 3. Note that this option is not offered Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:

Mageia4 32 bit, no x264 codec found too in avidemux qt! Can you create a tainted version with this codec and other? Thank you

Hi, x264 video encoder plugins now fixed and submitted on Cauldron and on mga4 too. We have also added others available audio encoder plugins for aften and dcaenc and other audio decoder plugin for dca, that is for Cauldron. Same for mga4 without aften because it is not available on mga4 repo. Can you test it on 4/Tainted/Updates_testing repo and give your feedback, please ?

Hi i tested it on magiea4/Tainted/Updates_testing repo and all is ok for me thank you!
Ok, thanks for your feedback and test. :) Advisory: ======================== Some users have reported that is missing a video encoder x264 plugin in avidemux package for mga4 (while it is on mga3). Actually it is available but has not been built by a lack of a devel package dependency. To fix this issue, we have rebuild avidemux-plugins with the x264-devel package for enable the x264 encoder plugin. Note that Core version is not affected but it is for the Tainted version. Improvement: We have also added an other available audio encoder plugin for dcaenc and an other audio decoder plugin for dca. Note that Core version is not affected but it is for the Tainted version. ======================== Packages in 4/core/updates_testing: ======================== avidemux-cli-plugins-2.6.6-2.1.mga4.i586 avidemux-plugins-2.6.6-2.1.mga4.i586 avidemux-qt-plugins-2.6.6-2.1.mga4.i586 avidemux-cli-plugins-2.6.6-2.1.mga4.x86_64 avidemux-plugins-2.6.6-2.1.mga4.x86_64 avidemux-qt-plugins-2.6.6-2.1.mga4.x86_64 Packages in 4/tainted/updates_testing: ======================== avidemux-cli-plugins-2.6.6-2.1.mga4.tainted.i586 avidemux-plugins-2.6.6-2.1.mga4.tainted.i586 avidemux-qt-plugins-2.6.6-2.1.mga4.tainted.i586 avidemux-cli-plugins-2.6.6-2.1.mga4.tainted.x86_64 avidemux-plugins-2.6.6-2.1.mga4.tainted.x86_64 avidemux-qt-plugins-2.6.6-2.1.mga4.tainted.x86_64 Source RPM: ======================== avidemux-plugins-2.6.6-2.1.mga4.src.rpm avidemux-plugins-2.6.6-2.1.mga4.tainted.src.rpm How to test this update request: ======================== - Install 'avidemux-plugins' from tainted/release - Check if, on toolbar Help -> Plugins -> Video Encoder, the plugin "Mpeg4 AVC (x264)" appears here on the list. - Normally not, as it is a missing. - Install now 'avidemux-plugins' from tainted/updates_testing, and check if, on toolbar Help -> Plugins -> Video Encoder, the plugin "Mpeg4 AVC (x264)" is now available on the list. - For improvement you can just check if : * on toolbar Help -> Plugins -> Audio, the plugin "libDca decoder plugin..." is available on the list. * on toolbar Help -> Plugins -> Audio Encoders, the plugin "DCAEnc Dts encoder plugin..." is available on the list.

tested on mga4 64bit: x264 and also the audio plugins are available after used tainted update testing repos. Checked also the presence in cli-version and I converted a video using the x264. Everything is working... (In reply to marc fanjoux from comment #4) > Hi > i tested it on magiea4/Tainted/Updates_testing repo and all is ok for me > thank you! Did you test 32bit (refering comment #2)? Can we add the 32bit OK tag as well? Or should I test for 32bit as well?
