Description egc 2014-03-22 12:48:17 CET
Description of problem:
When resuming from suspend there is a black screen with the mouse pointer. The mouse pointer is not blocked, i can change to Ctrl-Alt-F2, but then the monitor goes in sleeping mode. The only thing i can do at this point is to make a soft reboot (Ctrl-Alt-Del).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Mageia 4
dkms-nvidia-current-331.49-1.mga4.nonfree
x11-driver-video-nvidia-current-331.49-1.mga4.nonfree
kernel-desktop-3.12.13-2.mga4-1-1.mga4
x86_64

How reproducible:
Almost every time, but not always ...

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
- Suspend to RAM
2.
- Resume from suspend
3.
Screen is black with only mouse pointer visible; mousepointer does not freeze

lspcidrake:
Card:NVIDIA GeForce 400 series and later: NVIDIA Corporation|GK104 [GeForce GTX 660 Ti] [DISPLAY_VGA] (rev: a1)

Driver: nvidia

Also, when testing the nvidia driver in mcc it shows en error, even if the card works in that moment.

Comment 2 egc 2014-03-22 13:38:48 CET
nouveau driver does not work at all with this card. X won't start.
Comment 3 egc 2014-03-26 22:33:22 CET
I downloaded and installed the driver (same version as Mageia has) from Nvidia homepage a few days ago and it seems to work. No black screens anymore.
So i guess it is a Mageia issue ...
Comment 4 egc 2014-04-08 09:10:09 CEST
Well, sometimes it still happens also with the original Nvidia driver ...

Is anybody trying to repair this or should i return to Mageia 3?
Thanks!
