Description of problem: The DVB USB stick PCTV 340e does not work anymore with newer kernel: it works with the old kernel kernel-server-3.8.13.4-1.mga3-1-1.mga3, but not with the new kernel-server-3.12.13-2.mga4-1-1.mga4. Unfortunately there is no error in dmesg, nor in journalctl, everything (firmwares and kernel modules) is well loaded and recognized, but it is not possible to tune and watch DVB TV (e.g. using mplayer or kaffeine). I do not know if it can be related to https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12049. Also I do not have a smaller interval to delimit from which kernel version it begun to fail. How reproducible: Connect the USB stick to computer, try to watch a pre-configured channel with mplayer or kaffeine. No image appear: mplayer complains about being unable to tune the channel and stop, kaffeine fails silently. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Connect the USB stick; 2. Launch kaffeine or mplayer in order to watch TV; 3. Wait and see that nothing happens. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
Finally the problem is known and a patch has happened: https://www.mail-archive.com/linux-media@vger.kernel.org/msg77295.html https://www.mail-archive.com/linux-media@vger.kernel.org/msg77296.html https://www.mail-archive.com/linux-media@vger.kernel.org/msg77294.html https://www.mail-archive.com/linux-media@vger.kernel.org/msg77297.html Maybe it will be merged in a mageia kernel soon.

I have just compiled the patched module xc4000 and I can confirm it works with the latest kernel kernel-desktop-3.12.25-3.mga4-1-1.mga4.
I've just rebooted and with the new kernel (3.14.24-desktop-1.mga4) the relevant part of the patch seems to have been merged. Thus now everything works fine out of the box !
