odd font appearance

look at the image, see the title bar of firefox for example: the 'o' doesn't look good there... also the font below as in regular text (black on white) has a too thin look... afair it wasn't like this in earlier versions...
Comment 2 Manuel Hiebel 2011-07-27 18:57:08 CEST
still present ?

Source RPM: (none) => freetype2

Manuel Hiebel 2011-07-27 18:58:10 CEST

Source RPM: freetype2 => firefox

Comment 3 AL13N 2011-07-27 21:51:22 CEST
afaik yes in mageia 1; don't have a cauldron ready to test (yet), unless something has been changed?
Comment 4 AL13N 2011-07-27 21:51:45 CEST
also, i'm not sure this is firefox's problem... i just give an example for it in firefox.
Comment 5 Manuel Hiebel 2011-07-27 21:57:06 CEST
yep sorry i think it's freetype (like some other bug)

Source RPM: firefox => freetype2

Comment 6 AL13N 2011-07-28 12:57:06 CEST
well somehow someone had set it to freetype2 before
Comment 7 Marja Van Waes 2011-10-13 17:47:27 CEST
@ AL13N

No freetype maintainer available, so I'm hoping the problem solved itself. Did it?

no, but i notice that there's a libfreetype6 in updates testing, i donno if that could/would solve this issue. I know absolutely nothing about fonts and don't know what exactly could be responsible...

Nor do I, but I don't object against you testing those freetype packages ;)

@ AL13N

Is it solved now with libfreetype6-2.4.8-1.mga2.tainted?
Comment 11 AL13N 2011-12-23 22:29:57 CET
i cannot easily reproduce without iaora... i'll just close
