Description Frank Griffin 2014-02-09 15:15:51 CET
In current cauldron, KDE Power Management insists on hibernating/sleeping the system when my laptop lid closes despite the fact that I've set the lid-close activity on AC/Battery/LowBattery to "Turn off screen".

This is fairly new behavior, probably came in with the new KDE in cauldron.

This happened once before, months back, and eventually righted itself. It may have to do with upstream code that eventually gets patched.

It's annoying, because I keep a number of ssh sessions open on the desktop, and this behavior disconnects them all because it shuts down and restarts the network interfaces.

This has changed with the latest KDE in cauldron. Briefly closing the lid now works correctly. However, when I leave the lid closed overnight, I frequently (but not always) find that the machine has powered off during the night.

The machine is on AC all of the time, and I check the power connection each time I find it powered off, and it's connected, with the AC LED on the laptop lit.
