I have been using mageia 1,2, 3, and now 4. I have installed all of them successfully many times. My computer has has a powercolor ati hd5450 (a very common video card). The display is a dell 2405. I have connected both the VGA and the DVI connectors from the graphics card to the monitor. When I go through the graphics configuration, I have been unable to successfully 'test' any graphics configuration. I have tried the proprietary drivers, the non-proprietary drivers, the x.org drivers, the vesa drivers, the framebuffer drivers. I have tried the analog video, the digial video, and many different resolutions. I was running mageia-3, but I cleverly overwrote it while installing mageia-4, so I don't know what settings I was using that worked. I have another computer attached to the monitor analog output via a kvm switch running mageia-4 without issue. I am running fedora-20 on yet another computer attached to the monitor analog output via a kvm switch without issue. I have another computer attached to the monitor analog output via a kvm switch running mageia-2 without issue.

I removed mageia-4. I installed mageia-3. Everything worked smoothly. Graphics was automatically configured with non-free driver. ATI radeon hd 5000, dell 2405 fpw, 1920x1200x24 bit. X works fine. Mageia-4 definitely has some issue configuring my hardware.
Hi Jeff, sorry that your bug report got overlooked. Is this bug still present in Mageia 5 RC? We can't fix the installer for Mageia 4 but maybe we can for Mageia 5 if it's still present.

I think I eventually got it working. I am now using a different monitor. I have not tried it with Mageia 5 RC.
Let's close it and reopen it later if needed, then.
