mate-file-archiver-1.6.1-1.1.mga4 ready to test
Whiteboard: feedback => (none)
Tested MGA4 on real 64-bit hardware. Released issue was 1.6.0, and everything I tried with it incl a real RPM worked OK, EXCEPT a wierd virtual rpm kernel-rt-latest-3.12.9-0.rt13.1.mga4.i586.rpm which yielded nothing. Same for Ark & Gnome archiver, so this seems OK. Showed emlpty for the update candidate also, but probably legitimate. [See Bug 12676 for a release 1.6.1 special fault]. Trying 1.6.1-1.1 Opened several archive formats including 7z, cpio, a 'normal' RPM. I could neither find nor create a RAR5 archive to test against. Created a few simple archives incl zip, no evident problems. MGA4-64-OK

Test OK (mga4 - 32 bit). I did not test RAR5, please update unrar package (5.01 for Linux).

Ok, Atilla, with all due respect, your proposed advisory is not usable as is :) "-Drop mate-file-archiver-1.6.0-add-rar5x-support.patch" => how does that speak to users? I don't know what it does at all and why you dropped it. What's the change in user terms exactly? In fact there's no change and users don't care... There was rar5 support (via a patch), there still is rar5 support, from upstream now. Suggested advisory (ideally, the changelog shoud be rewritten in user terms (skipping technical stuff such as "Follow configure for DEPRECATED cflags". Since I don't know what all of it does, and I couldn't find a readable changelog upstream, I'll keep the advisory very simple. ====== Updated mate-file-archiver package fixes various bugs ====== This updates mate-file-archiver to its bugfix version 1.6.1.
New advisory from Atilla: Suggested advisory: ======================== Updated mate-file-archiver package fixes various bugs. Notably : -shared-mime-info uses application/x-archive instead of x-ar for *.ar archives. This update adds support for application/x-archive - fixed error when creating zip archives with files starting with a hyphen - fixed error when opening a rpm. ======================== Updated packages in core/updates_testing: ======================== mate-file-archiver-1.6.1-2 SRPMS: ======================== mate-file-archiver-1.6.1-2.src.rpm
Validating update. Advisory uploaded, please push to 4 core/updates.
