Description Georges Eckenschwiller 2014-02-02 18:08:59 CET
Hello,
Gthumb is good in the menu, but does not launch with xfce.

I then tried from the terminal. I have the following error:
(gthumb) Gtk-WARNING Failed to register client: GDBus.Error: org.freedesktop.DBus.Service Unknown: The name org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service files
sgthumb) GLib-GIO-ERROR Settings schema 'org.gnome.desktop.background' is not installed

Probably missing requires for gsettings-desktop-schemas.

Confirmed: installing gsettings-desktop-schemas fixes the problem.
Comment 3 Georges Eckenschwiller 2014-02-02 21:30:05 CET
Thank you for an answer so fast.

Gthumb starts now.

In the terminal, there are still messages, but probably without big importance.
(gthumb) Gtk-WARNING Failed to register client: GDBus.Error: org.freedesktop.DBus.Service Unknown: The name org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service files
GLib-GIO-Message: Using the 'memory' GSettings backend. Your settings will not be saved or shared with other applications.

NB: It seems to me that I have already seen this kind) of message with Mageia3, , with other applications.

I have another another problem with gthumb, but I do not think that it is bound to Xfce. Used with - import-photo, gthumb does not find my camera. I am going to make a separated bug report for this problem.

Georges, did you test on i586 or x86_64?
Comment 9 Georges Eckenschwiller 2014-11-22 18:28:58 CET
I am sorry, but since I passed to LXQt, I do not use any more Gthumb.
I do not remember any more with which material I had made the tests and I cannot redo it any more.

I suggest closing the report.

When reports are closed like this, can we please make sure to ask the sysadmins to remove the packages from updates_testing? Thank you.
