can you open konsole, do: kquitapp plasma-desktop and then restart plasma-desktop in it. Redo your tasks and see if you see "debugs" because here i can't reproduce.
Only "kquitapp plasma-desktop" was needed... This seems to have solved this problem which has plagued me for a long time. Will know for sure at next reboot... [Aside: I have 8 desktops. A strange artifact of performing this plasma-desktop restart is that most of my konsoles (one on each desktop), an xpdf, and all but one of my firefox windows got shrunk horizontally to 1" to 2" wide... claws-mail, KVIrc, mcc, gkrellm, oocalc & oowriter were not so affected... Weird!] OK... maybe you can see the issue this way since this still results in the initial report (though not as prevalent): - right-click on panel - ->Panel Options... - place the tip of the mouse pointer at the top of the blue bar over Panel Settings and click...
BTW Nicolas, trying to access Panel Settings from the second Panel I created at the top of the screen just seems to ignore the request; or the settings appear/disappear so fast as not to be seen at all...
Created attachment 4912 [details] konsole output With a minor correction to comment 2 (inside this attachment), this is konsole output -- hope this is "debug" you were looking for...
