Molly-guard is a very useful little program which intercepts the shutdown command when invoked interactively over ssh. It's useful to prevent absent-mindedly shutting down the wrong server, by typing the shutdown command into the wrong terminal tab (as I have done at least once). Example (via SSH): rjn@penguin:~$ sudo shutdown -h now W: molly-guard: SSH session detected! Please type in hostname of the machine to shutdown: ^C Good thing I asked; I won't shutdown penguin ... This is a debian utility (free software), but has been ported to Red-Hat and exists on GitHub. https://github.com/tmhorne/molly-guard Thanks. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
