Description of problem: While chasing a wget issue, I ended up with .png files from the install/extra/advertising directory which were wrong sized (due to glitch in wget). Anyway, viewing the bad files with "display" did not show anything wrong with the .png files -- they looked normal inside a window. Then, I re-downloaded the files to get correct files/sizes. However, using display on the correct files results in the image being displayed without window decorations (no title bar, no borders); so the only way to close this undecorated window is Ctrl+C or right-click->Quit. This bug only seems to affect good .png files; not .jpg, .bmp, or bad .png... Please provide a reproducible test case. I just tried: display /usr/share/wallpapers/stripes.png in KDE and it worked fine.
Yup... in kde and that one works... interesting... especially since all of ~/mageia/distrib/cauldron/x86_64/install/extra/advertising/*_IM_mageia.png always exhibit the issue... I tried mogrify'ing stripes.png to different sizes, including 457x308; but that one doesn't exhibit the problem. Looks like this is an old bug... https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=634776 http://www.imagemagick.org/discourse-server/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=20910
I would suggest reporting it upstream then, and providing them with an image file that produces the problem.
