Description of problem:
When viewing commit logs UTF-8 characters are broken.

Fix is quite simple as mentioned in linked comment.

tig just needs pkgconfig(ncursesw) as BuildRequires.

Tested on local system and this fixed the problem.

Should be fixed in incoming 1.2.1-3.mga4 release.
