Description of problem: When launching the gui equivalent of mgaapplet (don't remember the name sorry), the popup ask for the password, iirc until now it was the root one (or I'm wrong) now it's the user one. Anyway could it show what for password is needed ? ie root or user one ? As current situation could confuse users (like me). (In if there is change could be written in release notes) Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:

s/mgaaapplet/mgaupdate and found, it's MageiaUpdate
There should be no change. I copied the preferences 1:1 although I did mess up one of them (adding a password when before there was none), so I won't pretend to be infallible. I'm pretty certain tho', that mageia update asks for the *user* password, not root (or rather "admin") password. (NB: If your user is in the "wheel" group then asking for admin password will consider your user an admin and thus ask for the user password there too). Ultimately it's up to the polkit agent to present the GUI it deems most sensible. e.g. in Gnome it will tell you which user and show their avatar so clearly indicating which user's password is requested, therefore this is nothing to do with mageia update itself. I'd suggest reporting a bug upstream on whatever polkit agent you are using. As this requires an upstream change in your polkit agent, and as it works fine in GNOME, I'll close this bug as WFM, but feel free to reopen with a patch if you write one that will be acceptable to the upstream.

And just to confirm, MageiaUpdate did indeed ask for the *user* password, so no change here with the switch to polkit: http://svnweb.mageia.org/packages/cauldron/rpmdrake/current/SPECS/rpmdrake.spec?r1=412728&r2=474689
Ok will check more then, sorry and thanks !
Oh no need to apologise, I do agree with you that the polkit GUIs of some DE's could use some more love :)
