Description of problem: I'm not sure if I'm reporting this under the correct component. I've installed 4beta1 on my 32-bit desktop machine using the Live KDE DVD image on a USB stick. When it came to the part of the process where you have to reboot and remove the installation medium, I went into KDE's shutdown menu at the bottom right of the screen, selected Restart and then found myself left with a blank screen and nothing happening. No error messages came up to indicate what was wrong. After waiting some time, I decided to shut down using the power button on the machine. I took out the USB stick then booted up again and the remainder of the installation process worked fine. I haven't noticed any unexpected problems post-install, it was just that restart bit during the installation process. I didn't have this issue with either of my 64-bit laptops. I know it's almost time for beta2 now, but I've noticed the installed version isn't shutting down very well at all now, it usually does if I wait long enough but it can take over a minute.
Seems OK now in beta2, thanks. Carolyn
