Description Magnus Rasche 2011-05-05 21:07:52 CEST
Description of problem:

After an installation with dual-arch I installed a complete set of repositories (via mcc) and then an update with urpmi --auto-update.
During this I got this error twice.
1. with mageia-theme-Default, which killed the standard background
2. with the new kernel

The message was completed by: defaulting background resolution to 1024x768

The restart was OK

What's the full error message you got? just the one in the report summary?
Comment 2 Magnus Rasche 2011-05-05 21:43:14 CEST
Yes this was all.
The message appeared five times and finished with the message about the display.
Then urpmi continued
Comment 3 Ahmad Samir 2011-05-05 21:47:47 CEST
Start diskdrake from terminal as root and see if you get the same message. And post the output here.

I have made the partitions not with diskdrake.
I used fdisk, to get it especially for my ssd

Comment 5 Pascal Terjan 2011-05-05 22:23:45 CEST
This is libparted complaining about your partitions. diskdrake should still work fine as we only try to use libparted in case there is GPT.
Comment 6 Magnus Rasche 2011-05-05 22:45:43 CEST
Thanks for the information.
I will install another beta2 (64-bit) and will look.

I think the bug can be closed
Comment 7 Magnus Rasche 2011-05-06 00:37:20 CEST
As expected same error after installation with dvd 64-bit.

Not so nice is the killed default background.

Note that the end of sda1 14682111 is greater than the start of sda2 14582087.

If you fill sda1, the partition table in the extended partition will be
overwritten, effectively deleting all other partitions.

The error message is correct.

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

Thanks :)

Cheers,
marja

Comment 17 Dave Hodgins 2012-08-05 03:27:05 CEST
As per comment 10, the partitioning done using fdisk did
create overlapping partitions, which should not be done.

I'll close this bug as invalid. Feel free to re-open,
if I'm mis-interpreting the situation.
