Description of problem:
net_applet asks for root password when it, probably,should not.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
On IceWM desktop.

How reproducible:
every time


Steps to Reproduce:

Configure your wifi connection to "be controlled by the users".

A.
do right mouse click on the net_applet icon -->
go to --> Wireless networks --> click on the network you want to connect to

A pop up will ask you for the root password.

B.
Do a left mouse click on the net_applet icon.
The Network Center will pop up.
Click on the network you wish to connect to.
Click on the "connect" button.
You will be connected to the network.
No root password is needed.

This should be resolved now I think.

draknetcenter no longer requires a password by default and the interfaces *should* work without asking for the password if they are user controlled.

This commit comes after this bug report:

So it's certainly the intention.

Can you test again and reopen if this is still a problem? I'll close for now tho' as I think it is all resolved.

It turns out that it is not fixed in Mageia 3 or Mageia 4.

Some more comments...

The thing is, that if you follow the "right mouse procedure" that I describe above,
it will try to execute draknetcenter as root.

If you try the "left mouse" procedure, it will start draknetcenter as the current user.

Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.
