Description Aurélien 2013-10-23 11:48:58 CEST
Description of problem:

When using "oss" variant for a french keyboard, right control key is mapped to ISO_Level5_Shift rather than CONTROL_R.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
x11-data-xkbdata-2.8-1.mga3

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Choose a french keyboard
2. Choose one of the "oss" variant (for instance latin9)
3. Press the right Ctrl key anad check what is returned (xev for instance)

It seems that the value returned by this key has been updated to ISO_Level5_Shift because of unsecable space (which was previously obtained through the Alt Gr key). However This special space is easily obtained through the compose key. Moreover since the right Ctrl key is no more mapped to CONTROL_R, many features do not work anymore: multi-selection, Ctrl+P, Ctrl+L etc.)

---

This can be reversed by removing / commenting the line
    include "level5(rctrl_switch)"

in the file: /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/fr

Reproducible:
