Cauldron (KDE): Mageia-4-alpha3-x86_64-DVD.iso
VLC Player: 2.1.0
 
STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM
1. Open VLC
2. From the task launcher/bar, right click on the VLC icon and select "Start New Instance" 

EXPECTED OUTCOME
A second instance of VLC is launched.

ACTUAL OUTCOME
The VLC icon shows a "refresh" animation, but no new instance is launched. 

FREQUENCY OF OCCURENCE:
Always

COMMENT:
A second instance can be launched via the console: 
"VLC media player 2.1.0 Rincewind (revision 2.1.0-0-gedd8835)
[0xee9118] main libvlc: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.
[0xfb5f78] qt4 interface error: Unable to load extensions module"

No problem with Mageia 3.
