Description of problem: For some printers, the initial (main) window of system-config-printer only shows the label of its printer queue, but not an icon. On my desktop, the configuration contains a remote (networked printer) - its display is correct (label + icon), and a local printer on the parallel port (usb interface) - it is displayed by its label, the place normally occupied by an icon is blank (but selectable for clicking).. The printer on the parallel port is a HP Laserjet 6MP Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. In a root console, type system-config-printer 2. If it is not already configured, configure the local parallel printer 3. The main window of system-config-printer will not contain the icon for that printer. The printout in the console does not provide any significant information. Note: Due to https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11427, presently this bug can only be made visible by directly calling system-config-printer, the ordinary approach to start from mcc does not work. Can you run s-c-p in debug mode? Maybe it says the name of the icon that is missing. See also https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8751 for a similar issue.

This bug had been submitted in cauldron preparing Mageia 4 - impossible to install such a system for testing now. In Mageia 4, the problem does not exist any more (nor does it in Mageia5 Beta1) - system-config-printer now shows the icons for all configured printers. Closing as resolved / fixed
