Hi,

Many users seek how use Android in Mageia with Dolphin.

After install libmtp9 + kio-mtp RPM we can connect the android device.
Please can you add in default installation ?

Hi,

The idea is that since the mobile phones are nowadays used by everybody, it should be fine if we could easily "plug and play" them on the PC right after a new Mageia installation, just like a camera or an external drive.

The point is, not all Mageia users are able to install packages and if these packages are not installed 'by default', all those people that want to connect their MTP devices won't see it on the file manager.

A MTP could be a smartphone, a multimedia player, a photo/video camera, etc. These devices are very popular and Mageia 3 does not support it 'by default'.

In theory these packages should be installed, but kio-mtp and mtpfs don't really work.  See Bug 7638 for something that *might* work (I'm in the process of testing).

Have you tried simple-mtpfs?

I didn't test it or go-mtpfs (linked here: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7638#c13 ) extensively like I did with jmtpfs, but go-mtpfs and simple-mtpfs appear to also work.
