anything interesting if you run journalctl -f and try to connect ?
Source RPM: (none) => networkmanager
journalctl -f shows nothing because I cannot connect to my wireless network. I used the Mageia Control Center to create the network interface. This is message at the end: Problems occurred during the network connectivity test. This can be caused by invalid network configuration, or problems with your modem or router. You might want to relaunch the configuration to verify the connection settings. All wireless networks of my neighbours were not shown, too. The wify-switch in the upper right corner is always off. Regards, Stefan
Hallo Manuel, What's next? Can I help you? Regards, Stefan
>All wireless networks of my neighbours were not shown, too. The wify-switch in the upper right corner is always off. does iwlist scan, show ssid ? what is the output of grep NM /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-$ETH ? (with $ETH your device)
Also note that disabling the broadcasting of the ssid does not hide the ssid, unless nothing is connected to it. http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/tutorials/article.php/3576541

Hallo, sorry for delay. I have also tested Mageia 4 alpha 3 KDE-version. I was able to setup a new wireless interface using the Mageia control center. That worked well without any problems. My wi-fy was found. After that I have done the same procedure with the Gnome-version again. At the end of the setup-process I got the following message: Problems occured during the network connectivity test. This can caused by invalid network configuration or problems with your modem or router... So my wi-fy was not found. I tried to setup a wired connection with the Gnome-version. The result was the same, the wired connection couldn't be used, too. But there are no problems because Mageia 3 and Mageia 4 KDE are working well. iwlist scan: Using Mageia 3 I can see my wi-fy (and those of the neighbours); working with Mageia 4 Gnome my wi-fy isn't shown (maybe because of problems during the setup-process). Is this problem still happening in a fully updated Mageia 4? Is it solved in Mageia 5?
