Comment 2 Thierry Vignaud 2011-10-11 13:57:00 CEST
just a matter to tag as utf-8 where needed

Keywords: (none) => Junior_job
Severity: normal => enhancement

Comment 3 Pascal Terjan 2011-10-11 13:59:37 CEST
"where needed" is the problem, encoding info is unknown we have to test if it is valid utf-8
Comment 4 Thierry Vignaud 2011-10-11 14:16:40 CEST
As usual
Comment 5 Manuel Hiebel 2011-11-11 01:05:29 CET
Why set severity to enhancement ?
Comment 6 Thierry Vignaud 2011-11-22 13:30:09 CET
because it doesn't break anything

Yes, but it's still something that many people will see :)
Comment 8 Pascal Terjan 2011-11-22 16:46:09 CET
Not many people, I had never seen a machine with non ascii characters in a windows partition name, and never seen another report.

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

Thanks :)

Cheers,
marja

diskdrake in mga4 shows partition label with russian characters

This bug is still valid for mageia4. On screenshot the ntfs partition created by Windows 7 installer is presented. This also reproductible for linux ext4 partitions with label that contains non-latin characters. For example, after command 'tune2fs -L ÐеÑка /dev/sdb4' (sdb4 is my home partition) diskdrake shows 'ÃÂõÃÂúð' label for sdb4.
