Created attachment 4403 [details] lscpidrake -v for Akien Here is the output of lspcidrake -v on my laptop. It does indeed have an integrated Intel Graphics chipset alongside the discrete Nvidia GPU. Adding "xdriver=vesa" to the kernel options enabled me to boot the LiveDVD, I'm now starting a Live install. I did not need "acpi=off".
Created attachment 4404 [details] journalctl -a --no-pager Attaching the output of journalctl -a --no-pager. When booting the LiveDVD without additional kernel options, the X server breaks but I am still able to access the tty sessions, so I could retrieve some logs.

Confirming Claire's comment #8 As reported earlier in parinux pad for nvidia/intel/sandy bridge (real hw): 2nd round iso: After a minute screen goes black and nothing happens anymore. When I change to tty and kill X it restarts and I can continue. It's a workaround, but I wouldn't think it was good enough to push as alpha3. (Less problems with classical iso, worse problems with GNOME LiveDVD)
hello also problem nvidia/intel dual graphics https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11367 I test with Mageia-4-alpha3-LiveDVD-KDE4-x86_64-DVD and i have the same problem, black screen and pc dead

Please refer to clone bug #11574 in M4 beta1, not quite sure if it is same. But if it is, obviously that one needs to be closed.
Now at M4B1. ; My ASUS laptop with both nvidia and intel video chipsets defaults to Intel which works. Nothing I've done has succeeded in getting the nvidia chipset to work instead. Selecting any of the nvidia drivers fails on test. How _should_ this function with dual chipsets?

Reporter can you please test again using RC isos? Thanks

it works in final using xdriver=vesa
Based on last comment it should be closed. Please reopen if this is not correct.
