Description of problem: When I installed Mga2 from the LiveCD, everything went fine. I've since upgraded to Mga3 online without much issues. But recently I've noticed when I create some files/folders, they are given a Group ID as Audio, while the majority of the files have Group ID of Live. It doesn't seem to cause any problems but I just think is strange to give some files, such as a PDF file, Group ID of Audio. -rw-r--r-- 1 saptech audio 35022 Aug 5 11:57 charter080413.pdf Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): I'm currently running Mageia 3. I updated from Mga2 online. How reproducible: I assume it could be reproduced if someone install using the LiveCD. Thanks. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
After talking to the wonderful people in IRC, thanks to David Hodgins, I was able to get it sorted out. Below is a copy of the conversation I had with David Hodgins and how it solved the issue: DavidWHodgins saptech: As root, run userdrake. What does it show for the primary group for that username. saptech hmmm, audio DavidWHodgins I think it's a bug in userdrake. If you previously used it to select additional group(s), sometimes it changes the primary group, when it shouldn't. DavidWHodgins Double click on the user, select the Groups tab, and at the bottom, change it from audio to be the same as the username. saptech Oddly, username is Saptech and it is not listed DavidWHodgins I've seen it do it before, but it doesn't always happen. Haven't figured out what triggers it, so haven't reported it yet. DavidWHodgins Make sure the saptech group is selected, then check the primary group again. saptech majority of the files are under ID Live, and it show in userdrake but it's not checked saptech username is Saptech and it is not listed. DavidWHodgins The group live should have been renamed to saptech, during the first boot. saptech I'm not sure exactly when this happen because I installed mga2 and went through the alpha/beta and final ver to mga3 and recently noticed it DavidWHodgins And the do "chown -Rc saptech:live /home/saptech" saptech you want me to type it? DavidWHodgins Run the chown command as root, to fix the group for the files that were created since the primary group got changed. saptech I guess I need to reboot or logout? the command ran and seem to have made changes DavidWHodgins logout/it DavidWHodgins, it turned the group id from audio to live. Some reason, saptech user name is not listed as a group id saptech if I create new users, it does include the new user name DavidWHodgins Now, as root, run "groupmod -n saptech live" saptech I ran it saptech yep, that changed it from live to saptech DavidWHodgins I think that's what should have happened in draklive-finish-install. I hope it was okay to paste the IRC conversation, show how it solved this issue. Thnx.

As mention above, this command fixed it: "groupmod -n saptech live" I recently noticed it again and changed it today. "DavidWHodgins I think that's what should have happened in draklive-finish-install." Thnx.
