I finally figured out what was wrong with VirtualBox on a system, I only access via ssh. Trying to install the latest extension pack was failing with Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) Component: ExtPackManager Interface: IExtPackManager It works once gksu is installed. This was on a Mageia 2 x86_64 system, but I expect it applies to all versions. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:

it doesn't work with the equivalent in kde ? ( I don't remember the name )
It doesn't. /usr/lib64/kde4/libexec/kdesu from kdebase4-runtime was already installed on that system.
Is this bug report still valid Dave?

As far as I know, yes. I'll have to create a new install to confirm though.

Virtualbox works with kdesu out of box it just need to be symlinked to /usr/bin in Mageia 5,virtualbox don't support kde dir to polkit gui only native bin dir. In Cauldron there is now by neoclust added symlink to /usr/bin so it will work without manual symlink.
