It is present on the latest CD $ cat DATE.txt Thu Sep 5 23:24:24 CEST 2013 $ grep libuClibc Mageia-4-alpha2-dual-CD.idx Mageia - mageia dual 4 alpha 2 libuClibc-zlib1-1.2.8 (i586) I'll check an install
I see, it's libc that is missing. (Needed more tea) $ grep libc.so Mageia-4-alpha2-dual-CD.idx $ $ grep libzlib Mageia-4-alpha2-dual-CD.idx Mageia - mageia dual 4 alpha 2 libzlib1-1.2.8 (i586)
Didn't see the --whatprovides , sorry for the confusion. Seems to be working now, tested in vbox, the installation completes i586 & x86_64
Sorry for messing up your bug Dave. I thought I was awake and apparently wasn't. This was fixed i586 but it's valid x86_64 now. lib64uClibc-zlib1-1.2.8-1.mga4.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied libc.so.0.9.30.3()(64bit)) Leads to a cascade which results in basesystem cannot be installed. $ grep libuC Mageia-4-alpha2-dual-CD/Mageia-4-alpha2-dual-CD.idx Mageia - mageia dual 4 alpha 2 libuClibc-zlib1-1.2.8 (i586) Mageia - mageia dual 4 alpha 2 libuClibc0.9.30.3-0.9.30.3 (i586)
