Description Stephen Walker 2013-08-30 19:58:06 CEST
Description of problem:
Version 1.6 is already available as a package but that version has several bugs which have since been corrected. The prog is the best available, as far as I have been able to determine, for the purpose for which it's designed and I've been using it for well over a year in live performance set-ups. I've found it to exceed performance specs of its ridiculously expensive proprietary counterparts from Vox and Roland. To say I'd be lost without it is like saying I couldn't do without all that oxygen in the atmosphere.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
The latest vsn is 1.7.0

Sooperlooper requires old libsigc++1.2, but we have newer libsigc++2.0.

I don't know if we should introduce the old libsigc++1.2 only for this pkg. So IMHO this is a no go until sooperlooper is ported to the new libsigc++2.0.

However this is only my opinion and if someone decides to start maintain also the old libsigc++1.2 and imports it, it's fine for me.

Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes.

You might also want to join the packager team to maintain this piece of software: see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager
