Often, but not always, going to a file system mount by NFS + autofs makes Dolphin freezes when OTHER file systems to be mounted are down, even if, at the same time, from a terminal, my working directory is the directory I want to show in Dolphin. I have /mnt/computer1 /mnt/computer2 If computer1 is up, and computer2 id down, even if I try to go directly, through Ctrl+L, to /mnt/computer1/home , Dolphin often freezes, but at the same time, in a terminal, I can have "/mnt/computer1/home" as response to "pwd", and I have no problem with "cd" and "ll" commands in this mounted file system. It seems to me that Dolphin automatically launch "ls /mnt" when asked something inside this directory. Expected behaviour: + if the folder tree is not requested (as panel or in the main part of the window), Dolphin shouldn't even try to list non requested intermediary folders. + if the folder tree is requested (as panel or in the main part of the window), Dolphin should try to list the intermediary folder, but shouldn't wait the full answer to display what it can display, and should timeout within about 20 s. Possibly related bug: #10421.
