Description Levchenko Roman 2013-07-26 00:24:19 CEST
Description of problem:
Working with usb-hdd, that consists a directory, Mageia 3-i586 ftp mirror with, 47Gb. Triyng to see directory size by opening Properties and refreshing a directory size. Each pressing to refresh, I had a different result: 41.5Gb, 43Gb, 38.1Gb, 34Gb and so on. The crash of Dolphin happends after 3 or 6 «refresh»-key pressing.
The Krusader has been crashed several times in the same way.
Iâve repeated it with different computers. As operating memory smaller, as more often these errors heppend.
The common are: opereting system Mageia 3 (all updates are installed on 25.07.2013), using usb-hdd (a mobile rack with usb port with usual hard disk inside), working with directories, that have a lot of small files.

How reproducible:
Itâs ease to see, when you copy from usb-hdd to another usb-hdd: not all of the files are copied when you copy a directory, and the directory has a different size, accordingly.
Only when you mark each file in directory, then do a copy, only in this case you can take a correct copy of all files.

Krusader, the file manager, shows a directory size correct (press Space key), but does a wrong, not full, with not all of files, copy. In Scr.1 you can see a i586 directory, right tab, 47Gb, and a Properties window with 39.2Gb directory size.
In Scr.2 and Scr.3 - Dolphin (just before the crashing) with wrong directory size in Properties window: 42.2Gb and 38Gb, but directory - the same, i586 with 47Gb size.

MidnightCommander does a copy correct, with no errors.

Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.
http://blog.mageia.org/en/2014/11/26/lets-say-goodbye-to-mageia-3/

Mageia 3 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia
and reopen this bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
