Description of problem: Recently updated Mageia 3, and since the upgrade LibreOffice has crashed frequently and without warning on all manner of documents. We never had these problems with 2. This shows up in the system log after each crash: Jul 21 22:58:42 localhost kernel: soffice.bin[5295]: segfault at 4562f008 ip 00007f1a09ef8a7d sp 00007fff8af3c2d0 error 4 in libmergedlo.so[7f1a092a9000+2d97000] Other people seem to be having the same problem with builds with --enable-mergelibs set - e.g. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63517 Hopefully there's a fix possible without too much trouble--I'd hate to have to downgrade this computer to mga2. I failed to reproduce that. Can you try libreoffice-4.0.4.2 from Core/Updates Testing ?

We only encountered the intermittent crashing while editing large (50+ pages, with images and embedded charts) documents, after an hour or two of editing. At the suggestion of doktor5000 (here: https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5655), I tried the RPM packages downloaded straight from LibreOffice.org (4.0.4), and replacing the mga3 packages with those. They worked, mostly. There's no more crashing and loss of work, but every so often the display is badly corrupted and requires restarting the app. This is still a big improvement, though, because we can at least save the work, and it doesn't happen nearly as often. When my colleague is back from traveling, I'll try out the 4.0.4 packages from updates-testing. thanks for looking into this!
In the meantime I'm rebuilding the 4.0.4 package w/o that option.
Please comment on bug #10848 in order to validate the update.
Mga3 is no more supported. If you reproduce this bug on Mga4, please reopen.
