The Kobo just opens like a usb drive and just lists the books I have on it. I hope this is what you wanted.

Some other things I have noticed that might help.

When I have firefox's down loads open and I right click and pick "open containg folder" instead of showing me a folder where the download is, a financial mp3 discussion, it just starts playing it.

Not sure if this is firefox or if it is using Dolphin.

The other thing I am noticing is when I am on a ebook site, smashwords, I pick a book and click download epub, it comes up with a selection to save or open it, I pick save and it then opens up a file selection sub window and I pick the folder I want it to go too and click save but nothing is saved. Some do but alot do not.

This might be firefox again or the site, but it is a "file operation"

I was able to use my wife's PC, she is on vacation ;>}, it works perfectly. Both PC's are bare bone builds, installed with the same DVD. Her's I built approx 11/2 to 2 years ago, mine was built 6 to 12 months ago. Firefox looks and acts diferently and the downloads from "smashword" work perfectly.

The only real difference is the mother board, the cases are the same and the drives are both WD.

My PC will not download anything from smashword now. :>{

The last update, do them regularly, fixed firefox downloads. It was,the update, mostly kde lib updates so iy must have a kde problem.

It still try's to start a video player when pluging in a usb devise.

Confirmed. Missed this when kde was in testing.

Plugging in a usb stick with a vfat filesystem on it, and selecting
open in file manager, tries to open it with kmplayer.

Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.
http://blog.mageia.org/en/2014/11/26/lets-say-goodbye-to-mageia-3/

Mageia 3 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia
and reopen this bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

Recently found that the problem on my system was due to an entry in
~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list

Removing the line
inode/directory=kde4-kmplayer.desktop;
from that file fixed the problem on my system.
