Description William Kenney 2013-07-01 06:26:49 CEST
I am experiencing repeated and random x11 freezes with M3 Vbox Guest installs
on my nVidia M3 based system. Freezes mostly occur during the install process.
Most of my testing has been with M3 but I experienced a couple freezes
installing an M2 guest. A Ctrl-Alt-Backspace-Backspace bounces me successfully
out of the user and I can restart without having to reboot the system. This
occurs using the optional proprietary nVidia driver.

This system features a removable replaceable HD system so swapping the
drive with the nVidia driver with a another M3 install, with the default
M3 non-nVidia non-proprietary driver, completely solves the problem.

System
------
Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core
GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel MB
GIGABYTE GV-N440D3-1GI GeForce GT 440 (Fermi) 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16
