Description Shlomi Fish 2013-06-26 15:26:52 CEST
Description of problem:

In a new UNIX user account (and in my existing account), if I type a URL such as http://perl-begin.org/ in rekonq's address bar and press enter to accept it, then I get something else such as:

http://duckduckgo.com/search.html?width=100&site=perl-begin.org&prefill=Search DuckDuckGo

after the site is loaded. The bug does not happen in firefox and in chromium-browser.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Cauldron.

How reproducible:

Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. In a new user, enter into a KDE session.
2. Type rekonq from a terminal.
3. Type "http://perl-begin.org/" in the address bar and press Enter.
4. Type "http://python.org/" in the address bar and press Enter.

Reproducible:

Which result URL? Note that the copy+paste broke it.

the ddg.com one
btw beside related bugs ie url without http:// which go to the search engine, I didn't see something like yours in the kde bugzilla

I'd try erasing your rekonq configuration, but this seems INVALID. I can't reproduce it.

Well, it also happened in a brand new UNIX user account (added using "adduser") so that wouldn't have helped. Anyway, I can no longer reproduce this bug in any of my users - old or new - everything seems fine (with rekonq-2.3.2-1.mga4 though). So I'm closing it as WORKSFORME.
