Description Christian JULIA 2013-06-04 22:12:47 CEST
Description of problem : after a moment, owncloud client slow down and sometimes hang the computer. The process manager show a memory leak, an important percentage of CPU (sometimes 100%) and a permanent disk access (SSD in my case). Closing owncloud client immediatly resolve the problem

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Mageia 3 x64, owncloud-client 1.2.5

How reproducible: just setup a folder to synchronise, modify a few files and wait. I reproduced the problem on two different profiles with big or small directories. My owncloud server is a 5.0.6 version on my LAN.

I'm currently testing new version locally. They have probably fixed the problem finally, but I'll report back how my testing goes.
Comment 4 Sander Lepik 2013-06-28 19:08:34 CEST
After 24h+ testing I don't notice any memory leaking or high CPU usage, so I think the new version has fixed this problem.

Nicolas, is it possible to update owncloud-client and ocsync to their newest versions? It's probably impossible to fix it with patches as there are too many changes. The current version in Mageia 3 is unusable tho'.
Comment 5 Christian JULIA 2013-09-27 21:26:15 CEST
Sander, is there any news about the update of owncloud. The server version of the package has been updated but the client is still unusable.
Comment 6 Sander Lepik 2013-09-27 21:40:35 CEST
Well, you can use these RPMs if you want to: https://sander85.eu/owncloud/public.php?service=files&t=615251f56a6b585e3bcff42aa8aaac7c

I've been using them for quite some time and they work OK for me.

Not sure if Nicolas will update it for Mageia 3 or not. The current version is sadly unusable.

OK but can you verify your link, I have a "file unavailable" error message.

I use your RPM since 2 days without problems.
You should have the right to copy them to the official repo :-).
Thanks a lot.

Thanks for your work, Sander :)
Time pass... the client currently in mga4 updates itself to 1.5.4, but not 1.6.x, probably as 1.6 requires server 6.x.

The latest client got released recently, and one iof the fixes, is according to http://owncloud.org/sync-clients/releases/
substantial less CPU usage on client.

And, we already provide server 6.x :)

According to #9 this can be closed as fixed?
PS 1.7 for cauldron would be great DS
Comment 13 Morgan Leijström 2015-02-09 18:05:09 CET
This is old, and we are at client 1.7.1 (at least on cauldron) which i think works great.
closing this as old
