I installed Mageia 3 on my Dell D630 Laptop and everything seems to work smooth. I used the build in Wi-Fi to connect to my router. After this, I installed it on my desktop computer. However, immediately after login, it was impossible to connect via eth0 to the internet. When configuring the port, everything goes through to the last screen and when I want to connect, the GUI is switched to a text screen with a long output which I cannot copy and paste as the computer hangs up. The most important line could perhaps be one of the forst lines: [143.145265] BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 0000000000000010 I get the same problem when using my Wi-Fi dongle. As a test, I then switched off the Wi-Fi on my laptop and connected via cable. Exactly the same thing happened. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:

Created attachment 4055 [details] Network Error Tis is the output from my laptop screen. I also installed Mageia 3 i-586 and have exactly the same behaviour.
Right. The problem was sovled by installing "networkamanager". I do not understand why it was not installed, but clicking this option that the interface should be controlled by networkmanager, solved the problem. I had one more kernel panic when I selected that the interface should be started, but after the reboot I am online.
